On the go

Sitting here waiting for the movers to show up.  Yep, I'm relocating again, hopefully for the last time for a while, moving in with some Canadian friends.

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind.  The election, working hard to generate and process data for a meeting at the end of the month, and a visit from my adviser in Montana, and a host of other bibs and bobs have kept me on the run.  When I have gotten downtime I just can't stay inside - the weather has repented its horrid winter gales and been absolutely gorgeous.  I went for a hike with my adviser and a friend last weekend out at Red Rocks, an amazing beach that faces south and the south island.  In the midst of all my recent ordered chaos I ended that day feeling sublimely relaxed, which was a real feat.

There's a lot going on back in the states that I wish I was there for, and that is hard.  Thirteen thousand miles is a lot of distance.  Especially as we come closer to the holidays, know that I'm thinking about everyone up north, hoping you are well.
