This is the view off the back porch of the house I'm living in. It gives you an idea for how green a city Wellington is. It's a great walking city. Because it is so hilly the roads tend to zig-zag, with lots of switchbacks, up the hills. It makes walking the most effective way to get anywhere because there are dozens of little footpaths and stairways that allow pedestrians to cut straight up or down. At first I had to be shown the paths, but now I can usually find them myself, just by keeping a sharp eye out for people walking into "no outlet" streets.
There are usually some sorts of fruit trees lining the stairways, and cats napping on the sunniest stairs...
